Day 23 in my Photo Blog Journey

Today's picture is of my yellow rose bush...This is the first bloom of this year. I am particular fond of yellow roses...When my husband and I first started dating, yellow roses were the first flowers he gave me. It was valentines day 1993, and we had been dating for 5 months! How sweet he was and still is! I have been married to him for over 16 years. So every year when my yellow rose bush blooms, I think of my wonderful husband! I love you Jason!

Day 22 in my Photo Blog Journey

Today's picture is an old wood shack. This is in my Grandma's yard. When she was alive it had all sorts of things in it...wood, shovels. rakes and pots. We were always scared to go in there when we were little. I haven't been back in her yard in years. I was curious since I have been taking pictures everyday, if the shack was still there. I was able to take my husband and daughter to see her yard. Funny how it brought back some fond memories of being a child playing in this yard.

 Today's picture is that of a lone tulip...its a little late for a tulip to bloom. Tulips usually bloom in late February. This one is very unique..most tulips are red and yellow..hard to find a purple one..

A Boy and his dog....Today's picture is that of my son, Sam and of our dog , Skipper. Sam is such a dog lover. He loves all dogs! Skipper is a 2 year old black Lab. He loves Sam to pieces! He lets Sam do what ever he wants to him ( except giving him a bath!). If Sam is outside.....skipper is not too far behind!

Today's picture is that of a strawberry. I usually plant a garden full of vegetables every year, but this year I also added strawberries. This the first plant to produce! I was so very excited! I cant wait till they grow bigger and we can eat them!

Today's picture is of my youngest son, Samuel . He was nominated for Citizen of the month for the month of March! One of our local Hardware Stores has a bag of goodies for the kids, they get a balloon, tshirt, pencils, ruler, magnets, pencil sharpeners, and a back pack! Congratulations Sammy!!!!

Today's Picture is of a Lilac Tree Bloom. This tree was given to me about 4 years ago by my husbands Grandmother. She had a Lilac tree in her yard. I have babied this tree for 4 years and this is the first year it has decided to bloom. This tree blooming this year has an extra meaning to me...not only this is its first year to bloom , but my husbands dear sweet Nanny passed away this last winter, So this tree blooming just reminds me of Nanny. She is smiling down on us from heaven!

Today's picture is of a plant in the yard called Honeysuckle Azela. This one use to be in my Aunts yard but was dug up and placed in my dads. This is the 2nd or 3rd year it has bloomed.

Todays picture is that of a Tung Nut Tree Bloom. This is the tree you get Tung Oil for furniture from...these trees are more than abundant in our yard. They have a beautiful bloom...

Todays Picture is of a Dogwood flower...I have about 6 of these in my yard and right now most of them are in full bloom. I am really not fond of this tree, up close it is not really pretty. I think this tree is nice to look at from a distant.

Day 5 in my photo blog journey...Today's picture is of a cake I made for my Moms 59 Birthday..She asked for a coconut cake, I have never made a coconut cake! I looked for three days for a recipe. It took me a couple of hours to make, but it turned out well and was good. Happy Birthday to my MOM!!!

Day 3....Today is dedicated to my three "Babies" My children are my heart and soul...Even though they are grown now, I can't help but to look at this picture and get tears in my eyes ,because these three will always be my babies! I Love them very much!

Day 2 in my ph0to blog journey...Today's picture is of my husbands Great-Grandmother, Azie Graham. Azie was born in 1913, and is 97 years old. She will be 98 in April. This wonderful Lady has taught me so many things in life. She gave me a love of gardening and playing cards. I love to sit and hear her talk about when she was young. The picture above was taken when she was about 5 or 6 years old. She said it was one of her favorites. Her hat was very special to her..she would hold out in the street when soldiers would march through during parades, and they would toss coins in her hat. I Love this dear Lady very much!

Day 1 in my photo journey

Today I am starting my photo blog..today's picture is of a plant in my yard called "Yellow Bell". It blooms in early March and is always a sign of Spring. This particular plant is a "baby" of my Dads and his is a "baby" of of his Mothers. So every year when this plant blooms, My dad and grandmother are the two people I think of the most!
